Florida Southern College, often referred to as FSC, is a very highly regarded private college located in Lakeland, which is about halfway between Orlando and Tampa. The campus, located on Lake Hollingsworth in Lakeland, features ten buildings designed by Frank Lloyd Wright (more than any other location in the world) all connected by covered walkways also of his design.
Many college guides rank FSC as one of the best private colleges in Florida. It’s almost up there with Rollins and Eckerd, but the students at FSC are not nearly as liberal.

The academic programs at Florida Southern College give the school an excellent reputation. It is ranked in the number two spot among all colleges located in the South by U.S. News & World Report.
Classes are generally small and professors here are known to be very invested in how students perform, often helping students one-on-one. Most classes meet for four hours per week (as opposed to the usual three) where the fourth hour is devoted to more engaged learning activities.
Excellent internships are provided to FSC students and students are guaranteed an internship that can boost their resume.
A program at FSC, the Junior Journey, provides all entering students a chance to study abroad (or somewhere else in the country) during their junior year at very minimal cost.

People at FSC are friendly and since there are only about 2,000 students, they tend to feel that they are part of a real community.
The beautiful campus of FSC provides many places for students to participate in popular group activities, or just chill out.
Being located in Lakeland means students are close to both the theme parks near Orlando and Gulf beaches.
FSC has 20 sports team and they participate in NCAA division II Competition.
There are nine fraternities and seven sororities as well as over 70 other student organizations at Florida Southern College.
