Florida A&M University (FAMU) is the only historically black public university in Florida. A major component of the research conducted at FAMU relates to agricultural and health sciences.

Student Life

The FAMU sports teams, the rattlers, participate in NCAA Division I-AA, and their arch rival is Bethune-Cookman University.

FAMU’s marching band, the Marching 100, are consistently recognized as one of the best marching bands in the nation.

A large proportion, about 96%, of first year students choose to live on campus their first year at FAMU.
