There are no major colleges or universities in Fort Myers whose main campus is located in the city. There are, however, regional campuses for several private institutions, the only non-profit one of which is Rasmussen College.
Introduction to Fort Myers
Fort Myers sprawls across a large chunk of Southwest Florida. Its nickname is the Palm City, named after the many palms along McGregor Blvd, most planted by Thomas Edison whose summer home was in Fort Myers, next door to Henry Ford’s.
The Boston Red Sox and Minnesota Twins play their spring training games in Fort Myers.
